The Veterans One Stop Center "Where Veterans Come First" is designed to serve veterans and their families while at the same time providing access to a variety of community resources.
The purpose of the Veterans One Stop Center is to provide assistance, referral, education and information to our veterans as well as their families.
Services include workforce and employment assistance; mental health counseling; health care referrals to the VA; assistance with VA benefits forms and enrollment; information on education institutions including higher education colleges, technical and trade schools; legal aid clinics; housing opportunities; and a clearinghouse for community resources and updates from Veteran Serving Organizations (VSOs).
The services are provided by local community organizations and agencies that work collectively in addressing and meeting our veterans and their families' needs in the convenience of one building.
Some of the agencies/organizations providing services are the following:
- The McLennan County Veteran Service Office
- Baylor Law Clinic
- Texas Veterans Commission Employment Services
- Lone Star Legal Aid
- HOTRMHMR Counseling and Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN)
- Blue Star Banner Platoon
- The Hunger Coalition, among others.
The Veterans One Stop Center is operated by veterans and community volunteers that serve as peer mentors, and other professionals are also available and onsite to provide assistance as well. The Veterans One Stop Center is located at 2010 La Salle Ave. Waco, TX 76706, and our hours of operations are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
