HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES WAIVER PROGRAM (HCS)
HCS Case Management Transition to MRA Service Coordination
Effective Date June 1, 2010
Comprehensive Information Page
As a result of a mandate in SB 1 Section 48 of the 81st Texas Legislature, the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is planning to transition the Case Management service in HCS to the Mental Retardation Authority (MRA), as Service Coordination. DADS is in the process of developing a new HCS Rule, a rule handbook, and other tools to assist HCS Providers and MRAs to make the transition successful.
The Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center is dedicated to working with DADS, the Private Provider Association of Texas, the Texas Council of Community MHMR Centers, local HCS providers, and the consumers and families of HCS participants in whatever ways necessary to assure openness in activities and communication. We plan to build productive working relationships with providers, and to nurture trusting relationships with consumers. We will make this transition as smooth as possible.
Within this page you will find actual documents to help with the transition, links to other sites where transition information exists, and links to FAQs about the transition. Most importantly, on this page you will find out specific activities the Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center is planning locally to work through this transition.
